Information on the Amber Flag 2026
Croagh NS is committed to fostering an environment where every member of the school community feels supported, safe, and valued. In line with our ongoing efforts to promote mental health and well-being, we are excited to tell you about our Amber Flag Initiative.
The Amber Flag is a national initiative aimed at promoting positive mental health in schools and communities across Ireland. This flag symbolizes our dedication to creating an environment where mental health is prioritized, and the stigma around mental health challenges is reduced. It encourages everyone to engage in practices that nurture emotional and psychological well-being.
As part of this initiative, our school has been participating in activities designed to raise awareness about mental health and to encourage open conversations about well-being. We believe that by promoting mental health literacy, we can better support our students and create a more understanding and inclusive community.
Building on our existing school climate, the 4 Goals we set to achieve our 1st Amber Flag are:
- Create and maintain a year-round whole school wellbeing culture
- Bí Cineálta Anti Bullying Week
- Wellbeing Week
- Fundraiser for Pieta House
